James A. Wilson killed in crash on June 24 on Wesleyan Drive in Norfolk.
Man dies, another injured in Norfolk accident, police say
One man died and another was injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Norfolk Tuesday night, police said.
James A. Wilson of Chesapeake died from his injuries after he was pinned between two vehicles, Norfolk police spokeswoman Karen Parker-Chesson said in a news release.
The incident happened at about 9:05 p.m., and Wilson was pronounced dead about a half hour later at the hospital, she said.
Wilson was a passenger in an Dodge Stratus that was traveling southbound in the 1500 block of Wesleyan Drive. The vehicle stopped in the road, and Wilson got out to place items in the trunk, Parker-Chesson said. The driver of a Mazda Cx-7 came up behind the parked Stratus and hit it, pinning Wilson between the vehicles, she said.
A second man was taken to the hospital in serious condition, and no updates about his condition were reported Wednesday morning.
The crash is under investigation, and the Commonwealth's Attorney will determine any charges, Parker-Chesson said.
