Man charged in serious crash involving motorcycle on I-64 eastbound.

A man has been charged in a serious crash that happened Friday morning on I-64 eastbound, according to Virginia State Police.

A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after crashing into the back of a car on Interstate 64 Friday morning.

Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police said the crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 at the Twin Bridges.

A 2011 Chevy Cruz, driven by Steven Fowler, 50, of Virginia Beach made an unsafe lane change and was hit in the rear by a 2005 Harley Davidson.

The motorcyclist, later identified as Richard P. Case II, was ejected and suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and his condition remains unknown at this time.

Fowler was charged with unsafe lane change.
