Troopers are still trying to piece together what happened in the moments before a Ford Escape plunged off of Chuckanut Drive Monday afternoon, March 31, killing a 6-year-old Lynden boy and seriously injuring his mother.

A 6-year-old Lynden boy was killed in a one-car crash Monday afternoon on Highway 11 near Bow in Skagit County. Zachary Conzo was riding in a car, driven by his mother, which left the highway on a hairpin curve, overturned and landed on its top about 40 feet below in Oyster Creek. The mother, 35-year-old Kristin Conzo of Lynden, was critically injured and flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
