Spokane County sheriff’s deputies took a suicidal man wanted for arson into custody Wednesday when his car caught fire following a high speed chase.
A caller reported Brian Olson, 29, was threatening to kill himself near the area of 20000 N. Holcomb Road, according to a news release. Olson had a warrant for his arrest in connection to an arson investigation at 403 W. Barnes Road.
Traffic on northbound Interstate 5 just north of the Interstate 80 interchange was reduced to a crawl Friday after a truck involved in a high-speed police pursuit crashed.
The driver of the truck is suspected of committing assault in the 220 block of Richards Boulevard at around 9 a.m., according to a Sacramento Police Department statement.
A Kalamazoo man now faces several charges after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase on the east side of Calhoun County and then crashing.

Two people were sent to a local hospital following a police chase and collision Friday night in downtown Crawfordsville.
A man, identified later as Zachery Blackwell, 27, of Waveland, was pulled over around 9:30 p.m. for erratic driving. Officials say he fled from police leading police on a chase. He then hit a police vehicle at Main and Washington streets.
