A 50-year-old man is in critical condition at a Spokane hospital after his car hit a wall under an overpass in Spokane Valley on Sunday night. Spokane County sheriff’s deputies suspect the man had been drinking. Deputies responded around 9 p.m. to the collision on Argonne Road just south of Trent Avenue. Witnesses said the man was driving south when his car jumped the center median and hit the wall underneath the train overpass on the east side of the road. The man was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown partially out of the front windshield. Spokane is growing in population, and with this growth comes increases in traffic, congestion, and accidents.
