Jessica Hartsfield was hit head-on by a truck at around 8:30 p.m. while trying to turn left from Middle Road onto Allison Lane. Officers are interviewing witnesses to determine who had the right-of-way at the traffic light. Hartsfield was rushed to University of Louisville Hospital where she died. No one in the truck was injured. It is not believed that Hartsifled was weaing a helmet.

The Highway Patrol has now identified the man who was killed in a traffic accident on Highway 70 west of Salisbury Thursday night. Troopers say Faustino Lopez of Charlotte was killed when he hit a car head on. Trooper S.L. Herrin investigated a two vehicle crash on US 70 between Salisbury and Cleveland. Jerry Earnhardt of Salisbury, was driving a 1994 Buick traveling east on 70. Lopez was riding an orange and black moped and traveling west in the eastbound lanes. Lopez was wearing a silver helmet. The two vehicles collided head on and Lopez was killed.

A 22-year-old city man was killed early Wednesday afternoon in a moped accident on Martha’s Vineyard, Chilmark police said. Police identified the victim as Alexandro Garcia. Officers were summoned to a report of an accident on South Road shortly before 12:30 a.m., according to a release issued by police. They found Garcia on the road and it was determined that he died from his injuries.

A man riding a moped died after he was struck by a Marion County deputy in Mullins Wednesday morning, confirmed county Coroner Jerry Richardson. The victim has been identified as 68-year-old Kenneth Killingsworth, according to Coroner Richardson. The accident happened at about 11:38 a.m. on Gapway Street near U.S. 76, in south Mullins, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner's office. Gapway Street was shut down Wednesday afternoon while authorities were at the incident. The Florence County Sheriff's Office is investigating, Coroner Richardson confirmed.

A man on a moped was struck and killed while crossing the road Friday night, according to the Greenville County coroner. According to Fowler, the man was treated by EMS and fire crews at the scene. The man was then transported to Greenville Memorial Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead, said Fowler. According to Fowler, the man was identified as John Hammond, 53, of Pelzer. The accident is still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

A 20-year-old woman is hospitalized in critical condition after a motorcycle crashed into her motorized scooter in a Midtown intersection Monday night, police said. The incident occurred just before 7:30 p.m. when the woman, identified as Cynthia Wheeler, was riding the scooter westbound on a sidewalk on the north side of 32nd Avenue and into a crosswalk on C Street, Anchorage police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said. When Wheeler was in the intersection, she was struck by a motorcycle driven by 26-year-old Michael Frazier, Castro said.
