David Dehass was driving on South Main Street when he attempted to light a cigarette at the same time and drove off the road, striking a utility pole and flipping his car. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, and afterwards was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. Dehaas' car had to be towed from the scene.

A pedestrian was hit by a car around 1:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, October 22, in Hartford, Connecticut. The accident occured at the intersection of Oakland Terrace and Albany Avenue. The pedestrian's condition is not yet known.
