A 21-year-old woman died early Thursday morning in a single-car crash on Atlantic at Kernan Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a silver Honda Civic was traveling west on Atlantic Boulevard exiting onto the service road about 1 a.m. when the driver swerved abruptly to the left and the car rotated counter-clockwise across the grass divider. The passenger-side of the Honda struck the end of a guardrail.

A Jacksonville man was killed Thursday morning after he tried to help his daughter-in-law who was stranded on I-95 just north of International Golf Parkway, according to FHP. FHP said 61-year-old Patricia Ann Harris became stranded in the northbound lanes of I-95 and called her father-in-law, 82-year-old Charles Burnice Sherrill, for help. FHP said Sherrill parked in the southbound median and tried to cross the northbound lanes to get to her. That's when FHP said Sherrill was hit and killed by multiple vehicles. FHP said all vehicles are still at the scene and cooperating.

A motorcyclist and the driver of a pickup truck both died Wednesday afternoon after a collision at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Barkley Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Traffic homicide detectives said the Honda motorcycle heading westbound on Beach Boulevard about 3:15 p.m. went into the intersection on a yellow light and a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck pulled away from a red light early.

The motorcycle struck the driver's door of the pickup.

The 26-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene. Police said he was wearing a helmet.

A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash on Beach Boulevard at Eve Drive on Wednesday afternoon.

Traffic homicide investigators responded to the crash about 4:15 p.m.

Westbound lanes of Beach between Kline and Eve were closed.

No other details were immediately available.

Channel 4 has a crew heading to the scene and will update this story as more information is released.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash involving an SUV and a pickup truck Tuesday night on the Westside that killed a 17-year-old.

Police said an SUV with three people inside was coming off Interstate 10 and heading south on Greeland Avenue near Ramona Boulevard West.

The SUV ran a stop sign at that intersection and struck a pickup truck. Officials said that impact caused the SUV to lose control and flip onto its roof.

Police said Syndeya Adams was ejected from the SUV and died at the scene. Police said she was not wearing a seat belt.

A bad crash Saturday morning on the Westside sent a mother and her 3 children to the hospital, according to witnesses at the scene. It happened around 9 a.m. on Cassat Avenue near I-10. State troopers say a woman crashed her car into a power pole, but someone may have run her off the road. The mother and her three children were taken to the hospital and those who saw the aftermath of the wreck said they saw the kids with broken bones, gashes in their heads, other serious injuries.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is trying to figure out the cause of a crash that killed a 20-year-old man in Northwest Jacksonville early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a crash on Fifth Avenue near Soutel Drive about 1:45 a.m.

Police said Yancey Hairston was driving northeast on Belvedere Street and tried to make a left turn onto Fifth Avenue. Police said he failed to negotiate the turn, and the front of the car struck a culvert in a ditch and overturned.

Two men were injured, one critically, in a single-vehicle crash on Monument Road in East Arlington late Thursday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said a Dodge Neon was heading northbound on Monument near Oak Water Drive just after 11 a.m. Investigators said the 19-year-old driving was traveling at a high speed.

As the driver entered a curve in the roadway, he lost control of the car, police said. They said as he tried to regain control, the car began rotating in the roadway.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police cruiser was involved in a crash in which the driver of a van ran a red light downtown Thursday morning, according to police. The crash happened about 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of East Monroe and North Liberty streets. Police said the officer was traveling south on Liberty Street when the van heading east on Monroe Street ran the red light, causing the crash. The officer was transported to an area hospital for observation. The woman driving the van was not hurt. The driver of the van was cited for running the light, police said.

A man while riding his motorcycle Tuesday night was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after crashing on Acree Road in western Duval County. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says the motorcyclist was riding north on Acree on a Honda motorcycle at 9:53 p.m. the motorcycle ran off the road and crashed for unknown reasons. The rider, who has not been named, was transported to UF Health at Jacksonville Fire-Rescue, where hospital officials said the man was likely to recover. JSO said the rider was the only one involved in the wreck and no one else was hurt.
