Caylee Creeger, 15, was airlifted to Nationwide Children's Hospital Monday with critical injuries. Driver Chase Creeger, 16, was also transported to Children's and released. Chase Creeger was driving west on Somerlot-Hoffman Road when he failed to yield to a Dodge truck coming southbound on Ohio 423. The Dodge struck the right side of Creeger's vehicle. A fatal crash occurred in Marion Friday morning when Christopher D. Nagel, 37, of Marion, crashed his 2003 Ford F150 while driving southbound on Smeltzer Road at around 1:30 a.m. Nagel's vehicle exited the right side of the road and hit a mailbox. Nagel then over-corrected, drove off the left side of the road, crashed into a tree and was ejected from the truck. Nagel was transported to Marion General Hospital where he later died.

Hope Okuly, 44, killed, after her car crashes into a tractor-trailer, driven by Rodney J. Whitaker, 49, on State Route 309 near Marion.

A 44-year-old woman is dead after troopers say she swerved left of center, striking a semi Wednesday afternoon.

According to a report, at about 1:30 p.m., Hope Okuly, 44, of Ottawa, was traveling eastbound on state Route 309 near the Marion County and Hardin County line when she drove left of center and crashed into a semi.

After striking the semi, Okuly’s Pontiac Grand Am overturned and landed on the driver’s side.

Okuly was pronounced dead on the scene.

The semi driver, Rodney J. Whitaker, 49, of Kenton, was not injured in the crash.

The Marion post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed one person Friday afternoon. According to the highway patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. Friday along state Route 309 near state Route 746 in Marion County. Investigators say that 68-year-old Gayle Callahan, 68, of Crestline was traveling west on S.R. 309 when she drove left of center, striking a tractor-trailer head-on. Callahan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.
