Sunday, October 19, 2014Brandon Boles, of Stokes County, and Pablo Cruz, of Dudley, were killed in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 before the Farmington Road exit Sunday morning. A Ford pickup truck was traveling east in westbound lanes when it hit a Chevrolet pickup head-on. The vehicle driven by Cruz was traveling east in the westbound lane. The Chevrolet caught fire after the crash.

Wednesday, April 2, 2014A 22-year-old is dead and a male suspect was critically injured after a chase led to a wrong-way, head-on crash on Interstate 40 in Greensboro Thursday night.
Reagan Hartley and the suspect, Ronnie Fichera, 46, were injured around 10:20 p.m. just west of the Patterson Street exit.
Hartley died on the way to the hospital, and Fichera was taken to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries, Greensboro police said.
The crash happened after Fichera's Ford Expedition exited I-40 west at High Point Road, went around Four Seasons Mall and entered I-40 east going westbound, police said.
