Raleigh-Durham, NCA 16-year-old Middle Creek High School student is due in Wake County court Tuesday on a charge that he fled after a car he was driving sideswiped a school bus shortly after classes let out for the day Thursday.
Cary police arrested Kenneth Austin Alexander at his home at 5632 Monarch Birch Drive, an Apex address in unincorporated Wake County, shortly before 5 p.m., arrest records show.
Alexander was charged with failing to stop after an accident, careless and reckless driving and having more than one person under 21 in the car with him while he has a provisional driver’s license.

Charlotte, NCThe Belmont Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic accident.
The wreck occurred at 9:27 a.m. on Interstate-85 North near the Exit 27 off ramp, according to the news release from the Belmont Police Department.
The incident occurred when a tractor trailer ran into the back of a pickup truck that had slowed down due to weather related traffic conditions.
Gilbert Lazarus Carmona, 28, of Rutherfordton, died in the crash, police say.
The investigation is ongoing.
It has not yet been determined if charges will be filed against the driver of the tractor trailer.

St. Louis, MOAll lanes of Interstate 70 near Foristell are closed following a weather-related accident Tuesday afternoon.
Missouri State Highway Patrol is handling an accident on the westbound lanes of I-70 and Highway T involving two tractor trailers and a passenger vehicle shortly before 2 p.m.
The interstate was shut down as crews worked to clear the scene.
Authorities were still unsure of there were injuries involved in this accident
