An accident that killed a pedestrian and left the driver of an SUV hurt occured along East River Drive at Tremont after 7 a.m. Wednesday. Reasons behind the accident are unclear but information gathered at the scene shows the SUV had a green light when the pedestrian walked into its path headed north across River Drive. The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was expected to be released from the hospital Wednesday.
