A 16-year-old boy was walking near a bus stop when two truck collided at Central and Glendale avenues. The force of the crash caused one of the trucks to veer off the road and hit the boy. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The drivers of the two trucks were reported to be 19 and 36 years old.

A 17-year-old motorcyclist recieved life-threatening injuries after rear-ending a pick-up truck on CArefree Highway at around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The victim suffered a compound fracture, but fortunately was wearing a helmet and protective clothing which protected them from further injury. More information to come.

There are few details on the crash, but a van containing three males, ages 16, 18 and 19, and two females, ages 13 and 14 collided with a pickup truck near 35th Avenue and Dunlop Avenue. The 18- and 19-year-old men both sustained critical injuries and were transported to a trauma center, the two girls in the van were seriously injured and taken to a pediatric trauma center, and the 16-year-old boy sustained minor injuries. The driver of the pickup, who was the only occupant of that vehicle, was not hurt. We will update this story with more information as it becomes available.

The 19-year-old driver in a high-speed crash that killed a 16-year-old girl Friday is suspected of driving impaired and faces a possible murder charge. Robert Joseph Lopez Jr., of Glendale, was arrested Sunday. Five people, including 16-year-old Devonna Crouch, were riding in the vehicle when Lopez lost control and slammed into a freeway light pole. Crouch was killed in the impact.  A witness said the sedan crossed between lanes on the road and performed risky maneuvers, such as pulling across all the lanes of traffic, and that Lopez might have been trying to scare the people in the car.

Two girls were taken to the hospital after they were injured Saturday evening in an ATV accident, police say. A 12-year-old, later identified as Stephanie Quinonez, and 16-year-old, later identified as Shiely Quinonez, were riding an ATV near 36th and Minnezona avenues, said Sgt. Steve Martos, spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department. The girls were trying to take a photo when the ATV they were riding on collided with a parked vehicle, Martos said.

A 19-year-old man is dead and a search is underway for the driver of a Chevy pickup in what witnesses described as a street racing collision involving a third vehicle. Witnesses told Phoenix police an older model white 1964 or 1965 Chevy pickup truck was racing with the driver of a Nissan Sentra about 2:45 p.m. Monday. "Witness accounts have these two vehicles racing on 16th Street from Broadway northbound, weaving in and out of traffic," said Phoenix Police.

A landscaper, later identified as Octavio Herrera, 61, is in critical condition after he was hit by a pickup truck in a chain-reaction crash in the east Valley Wednesday morning. Police said a 17-year-old Mustang driver, who was street racing with another teen, blew through a stop sign and hit the exterminator's pickup near 52nd Street and Earll Drive at about 8 a.m. The crash sent the truck and its 27-year-old driver through a block wall, hitting a landscaper, who was mowing a lawn. The driver of the pickup was hurt but is expected to be OK.

Phoenix police are looking for an ATV rider who fled the scene of a fatal dirt bike accident in Phoenix on Tuesday. The vehicles collided in the desert near the 25,000 block of North 57th Street around 5 p.m. The rider of the dirt bike, Frisco Davidson-Spurs Yankolovich, 20, was rushed to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries, said a Phoenix Police Sgt. The rider of the quad stopped and looked at the victim, then left the scene, police said. Police said there are no signs of the ATV rider.
