One person was killed and two others injured Saturday night when they were hit by a train near Santa Barbara. The accident took place at Vista Point on the Gaviota coast northwest of Santa Barbara. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with major injuries and a third suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. According to reports, two women and two men in their 20s were standing on the tracks on a trestle, taking pictures of the sunset just before 6 p.m., when the train came around the corner.
