Cindy Lou Gutierrez was driving on Burnt Store Road just be fore 3 a.m. when her car traveled off the road and rolled over several times. Gutierrez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 7:30 a.m., one vehicle ran a stop sign and collided into a second vehicle. Both drivers sustained serious injuries. The driver of one of the vehicles, 20-year-old Brendan Younk, sustained life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized in critical condition. Investigators believe he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. More information will be posted as it is released.

Andres Resendiz-Moreno sustained fatal injuries when his vehicle left the road at Greenwood Avenue and Prospect Avenue and struck a tree head-on. He was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital where he died. Troopers say he was not wearing a seat belt, and that alcohol was involved in the crash.

A small engine piper-plane driven by Gregory Piehl went down in a Fort Myers parking lot, about a half mile short of the Page Field runway. Gregroy and his mother Donna, a passenger at the plane, both suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the plane crash.

A fatal crash occurred in Fort Myers Friday night around 7 p.m. on Palm Beach Boulevard in Fort Myers. A scooter driven by Marc Jacques, 32, was traveling east on Palm Beach Boulevard when he was rear-ended by a Lexus SUV driven by Caleb Black, 18.  The Lexus dragged the scooter and rider more than 200 feet.  Jacques was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Witnesses say the Lexus speeding and that Black may have been using his cell phone during the collision.

At around 10 a.m. Sunday, two vehicles were both traveling on McGregor in the same direction heading toward Ft. Myers, Florida. A pickup truck driven by Alton Lee Travis of Lehigh Acres was in the outside lane, and a motorcycle operated by Calvin Lee McIntosh of Sanibel was in the inside lane, according to Floriday Highway Patrol. The pickup changed lanes in front of the motorcycle, and McIntosh braked and was forced to lay the motorcycle on its side, striking the back of the pickup truck. McIntosh was pronounced at the scene.

Roberto Lopez Jr. 10, of Tampa, died from injuries sustained on Sunday afternoon in Lee County, Florida. During the accident, a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer lost control and overturned on I-75 near the Alico Road exit near mile marker 127. Apparently, the vehicle's tire's tread separated, causing the driver, 55-year-old Roberto Lopez, to lose control. The vehicle overturned several times, ejecting the 10-year-old. The boy was transported to Lee Memorial, where he died.

Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help to locate the driver of a car that crashed into a motorcyclist Saturday night at around 6 o'clock in the southbound lanes of I-75 in Bonita Springs, approximately one mile south of the Bonita Beach Road exit. Robert Colantonio, 49, of Naples, died after he was hit by a car that was trying to switch lanes. Troopers believe the car is either a "silver, gold, or dark" colored sedan with major front-end damage.

A single-vehicle crash at around 1 a.m. has resulted in the death of David Shultz III, 20. Shultz was driving southbound on Del Prado Boulevard when the truck left the roadway, struck a concrete pillar in a gas station parking lot, and rolled over. Schultz was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The next of kin for David V. Schultz III have been notified. It is not known at this time if alcohol or drug use was involved in the crash.

A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Lehigh Acres Friday night on Sunshine Boulevard at 11:10 p.m.  The bicyclist was riding on Sunshine Boulevard without the proper lighting for night-time riding. An unknown vehicle was driving south on Sunshine Boulevard and struck the bicycle. That vehicle left the scene. The bicyclist, Charles Todd Snyder, 45, died from injuries sustained in the collision. The suspect vehicle is a light-colored or red passenger car with damage to the right front headlight area.
