Two people were taken to the hospital after a traffic crash Wednesday afternoon, according to Kauai police. The incident happened at about 2:40 p.m. on Kuhio Highway near the Hokualele Road junction in Anahola. Police say a motorcycle was heading south on the highway when it rear-ended a Nissan sedan traveling in front of it. The operator of the motorcycle, a 51-year-old man, and his passenger, a 41-year-old woman, were transported to Wilcox Hospital with serious injuries. According to police, the male and female occupants in the sedan were not injured.

A man died after his car went off the road, hit a tree, then slid down into a ravine off Kuamo'o Road in Wailua on Kaua'i.

Around 8:30 Sunday morning, a motorcyclist heard the man's cries for help.

The man told him he had been struck for several hours.

The motorcyclist called 911, but by the time paramedics got there, the man had already passed away.

Officials have not released his name yet.

The horrific crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Farrington Highway near the Kahe Power Plant. A young mother and her toddler were killed along with a third passenger in the car. Family members say the person who was driving the car is the baby's father. He survived the crash and is recovering in the hospital. Police believe he may have been driving drunk. There were two adults and two children in the truck all of them survived. The driver has a broken leg but the others no major injuries.

Traffic investigators have cleared the scene of a deadly early morning crash in Pearl City.

Just after 1 a.m. Friday morning, police say a motorcycle crashed into a parked car along Kaahumanu Street.

The 25-year-old rider was taken to Pali Momi hospital in extremely critical condition, where is later died.

A small plane carrying nine people crashed into the water off the Hawaiian island of Molokai, killing the director of the state Department of Health, officials said. The eight others survived. A pilot and eight passengers were on board the Makani Kai Air plane, which was scheduled to take off at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday and fly to Honolulu. It went down about a half-mile northwest of Kalaupapa peninsula, Maui Fire Department spokesman said in a statement.

A contracted security officer was rushed to the hospital after an accident involving a commercial truck.

The incident happened shortly before 10 a.m. Monday at Pier 39.

According to Honolulu police, the security guard got too close to the truck and was knocked to the ground. The 43-year-old woman was then run over.

"She was pinned. The lower portion of her body was pinned," said Honolulu police.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she remains in serious, but stable condition.

Traffic on Nimitz Highway near Waiakamilo Road was not affected.

The National Weather Service says the bad weather brought down a power line in Kailua. It happened around 9:30 Sunday morning and a young man was injured. The 22-year-old saw his van on fire and tried to put the fire out. That's when trouble began. The quiet of a Sunday morning on Ohana Avenue was shattered when residents heard a loud explosion. A power line split both ends of the live wire which caused considerable damage. Fortunately, he was not. The young man was taken to Castle Medical Center in critical condition and was later transferred to Queen's.

A 24-year-old Lihue man was medevaced to the Queen's Medical Center Thursday night after sustaining head injuries in a traffic accident, according to Kauai police. The incident happened at about 11 p.m. on Kuhio Highway near the Fish Express in Lihue. Officials say the man was a passenger in a black Nissan pickup truck that was traveling north on Kuhio Highway. He then fell out of the truck. The man was taken to Wilcox Hospital by the driver of the truck, a 21-year-old woman. She did not sustain any injuries.

An 83-year-old woman is dead after she was struck by an SUV in Salt Lake.

The incident happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on Ala Napuaa Place.

Honolulu police say the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a Ford Explorer.

The woman was taken to the Queen's Medical Center, where she later died.

The driver of the SUV, a 62-year-old man, was not injured.

On Thursday, the Honolulu Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as Matilde Cabanero of Salt Lake.
