State Police say a garbage truck collided with a day-care center bus after the truck's breaks failed.

A garbage truck collided with a day-care center bus this morning injuring 11 children. Illinois State Police say the accident occurred about 7:15am at the intersection of Route-13 and Spillway Road on the Jackson-Williamson county line.

Police are looking for a car that left the scene after hitting a pedestrian early Friday morning.

The accident happened just after midnight at the intersection of Lomas and University boulevards. An Albuquerque ambulance was driving by when the driver was flagged down by someone saying that a woman had been hit by a car.

Paramedics rushed over to her and took her to the hospital, but the car that hit her was nowhere to be found. Police shut down the intersection for a few hours Friday morning.

The woman is in critical condition.

The community of Raymond is grieving this weekend over the death of a local educator.

Chad Langheim, the Principal and Co-Superintendent of Lincolnwood Jr. and Sr. High School died in a car crash Friday night.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says Langheim was headed South on Black Diamond Trail when his car left the road and hit a metal drain.  Langheim was air-lifted to Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  

The Montgomery County Sheriff and the Sangamon County Coroner are investigating the accident.

Three Ashland University students and one adult remain hospitalized two days after a fatal two-car accident in Lorain County, hospital officials confirmed. Paige Gorsuch, of Wauseon, Ohio, has been upgraded to fair condition and Madalyn Humphrey, of Elkins, West Va., and Rosalie Sepesy, of Austintown, remain in serious condition, a MetroHealth Medical Center spokeswoman said. A fourth student, Andrew Keim, of Millersburg, died Saturday at the hospital.

A Bountiful motorcyclist died in a Logan Canyon crash Friday. About 1:30 p.m., Craig Allen, 31, was driving west when he went off the road, up an incline and was thrown from the motorcycle near mile post 468. Craig Allen, 31, died Friday when his motorcycle went off the road in Logan Canyon. After the crash, the motorcycle caught fire, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

A 61-year-old woman was killed Friday after a head-on crash at the intersection of Northridge and Sadie Thomas roads. Pamela L. Graham, of Granville, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release from the Granville Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

A construction worker is dead, killed in a hit and run as he worked on I-459 early Friday morning. It happened around 3:40 a.m. in the active ALDOT construction zone near mile marker 11. Hoover Police confirmed that the victim was identified as Randy Keith Berry, 59, of Cullman. He died on the scene. According to authorities, the vehicle that hit him left the scene. The vehicle was later located in Hoover. Investigators are now interviewing the driver.

An 18-wheeler driver is dead this morning after an accident just north of Sinton. Troopers tell us the accident happened around 1:30 this morning on Highway 77. DPS tells 3 News the rig ran off an overpass, struck a water truck that was beneath the overpass and caught fire. Senior Corporal Charlie Ramirez says driver fatigue may have been a factor in the crash. The victim's identity has not yet been released.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a deadly head-on crash on the Beeline Highway in the East Valley on Thursday night, an Arizona Department of Public Safety Officer said. The collision happened about 10:10 p.m. when a Ford Mustang appeared to have crossed the center line and hitting an SUV head-on, DPS Officer Eric Lamb said. Lamb said an older man who was a passenger in the Mustang was killed. The passenger and the woman driving the northbound Mustang had to be extricated, Lamb said. There was no condition available on the woman.

A husband and wife were killed Friday morning when their pickup slammed into a tree on the westbound 10 Freeway in San Bernardino County.

Officers responded to the truck crash around 3:45 a.m. in Bloomington, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of a red Ford F-150 lost control of the truck after an issue with a tire and collided with a tree off the freeway, an officer on the scene said.

The man was ejected from the vehicle and the pickup caught fire, officials said. Another person also suffered minor injuries in the wreck, authorities said.
