At about 3:25 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a crash on Norton Road at West Broad Street involving a car and a pedestrian. Authorities claim a 1998 Nissan Altima was driving eastbound on West Broad Street when it struck 35-year-old Freddy L. Jeffers Jr, of London. The car continued eastbound on Norton after striking Jeffers. Jeffers was sent to Doctor's West Hospital where he died approximately an hour later. The driver of the Nissan has been identified as Steven J. Mays, 31, of Hilliard. Mayes was charged with Hit-Skip, which is a 3rd degree felony, and sent to the Franklin County jail.

A 9-year-old child was the victim of a hit-and-run accident Thursday night on Shrock Road in Orrville, Ohio. The incident occured around 7:30 p.m. on October 23. The child is reported to be "ok".

The accident happened Friday night around 9:40 p.m. on E. 34th Street. The car is described as a red Honda Civic, or similar vehicle, with a white hood. Police expect the front of the vehicle to be damaged. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. The teen was flown to MetroHealth. Her condition was not immediately available.

Police in Springfield Township, Ohio are searching for a man and a woman who robbed a Kohl's department store. The suspects are believed to be Jon Daniel McCormick, 24, and Paige McCormick, 21, both residents of Canton. The two got into a physical struggle with the store's loss prevention officer after attempting to shoplift, then fled the store. The suspects physically assaulted store employees as they left. In the parking lot, the suspects swerved to hit the loss prevention officer as they sped away, leaving the officer unconscious.
