A 13-year-old female was killed in a two-vehicle crash in northern Idaho. Kalkidan Qualls was killed Saturday after the van she was a passenger in slid into oncoming traffic on U.S. Highway 95 near Tensed. The driver Russell Qualls was northbound when he lost control of the vehicle. A southbound 2008 Subaru crashed into the van in the passenger side, causing the van to roll. Russell Qualls, 51, and passenger Lisa Qualls, 50, were taken to Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene. Their current condition is unknown at this time.

One Idaho woman was killed and three people suffered injuries in a highway crash on US 95 on Friday at 2:30 p.m. One vehicle crashed into another while trying to merge onto the roadway. According to the crash investigation, Patricia McCoy, of Priest River, failed to yield to traffic while entering the highway and was hit by an SUV. The crash sent both vehicles off the roadway. McCoy died at the crash site.

A car containing three people was traveling northbound on 3800 East when they came to a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 30. The driver of the car then drove into the intersection, but was directly in the path of a westbound snowplow driven by Rodney Pooler, 58, and the two vehicles collided and slid off the northwestern corner of the intersection.

A mother and daughter were killed and five of the woman's other children were injured in a rollover car accident on a snowy interstate south of Pocatello. Rachel Hollibaugh, 38, of Dietrich, Idaho, was pronounced deceased at the crash site on Christmas morning, as was her 14-year-old daughter, Tanessa Hollibaugh. The five injured children were transported to a Pocatello hospital. Three children were treated and released, and a fourth was still at the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. According to investigators, the mother lost control of a Ford F-250 pickup and the vehicle rolled.

Sean C. Byers, 23, of Moxee was headed west on I-86 near the Pocatello Airport at about 6:30 a.m. when his 2002 Ford Ranger departed the left shoulder of the road, rolled, and finally came to rest in the median, according to Idaho state police. Byers was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger, Laura E. Howell of Edgewood, Washington was trasnported to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello in unknown condition.

John Perkins was attempting to cross a street in Boise when he was struck by a dark colored pickup truck. The truck fled the scene, and Perkins died soon thereafter. Police are searching for the suspect vehicle and have asked for the public's help in finding it.

At about 1:20pm, a car containing only one man crashed into Lake Coeur d'Alene, and ended up about 20 feet from the shore and 6 feet underwater. Bystanders witnessed the accident and managed to rescue the man, who is alive but currently in critical condition at Kootenai Medical Center. Divers check to see if there were other passengers but found none. We will update this accident as more information is released.

Sean C. Byers was driving a pickup truck with Laura E. Howell riding with him when he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled, not far from the Pocatello Airport. Both people were wearing seat belts at the time. Byers died at the scene, and Howell was taken by ambulance to a local medical center. The accident is still under investigation.

Idaho State police said that Jonathon Adamson, 18, was attempting to drive across railroad track in Shelley Wednesday morning when his pickup was struck by a train. Adamson was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, where he died.

Just after 4 p.m. Saturday at 9th and Front streets, Brenden Rogers of Boise was reportedly riding his skateboard on the sidewalk when a pickup driven by a 43-year-old Boise man struck him while driving out of a parking garage. According to the Boise Police Department, "The boy was conscious and able to jump up immediately after the collision," but he died after being brought to an area hospital of blunt force trauma. Drugs and alcohol are not currently suspected. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call Ada County dispatchers at (208) 377-6790.
