A Hornell teen was killed Chistmas Eve around 10 p.m. after the vehicle he was a passenger in exited County Route 29 in the Town of Canisteo and smashed into a tree. The driver of the vehicle, Thomas Flynn, 18, Hornell, was charged by New York State Police with driving while intoxicated. Flynn’s passenger, Hunter Kolesar, 19, was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where he died. Flynn was also taken to Packer Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Just before 10:00pm, a 45-year-old man driving on Highway 20 crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old man head-on. Both drivers sustained multiple fractures in the collision, but the 45-year-old man was knocked unconsious and had injuries that were considered life-threatening, while the 18-year-old man was conscious but still in serious condition. We will update this accident as more information is released.

Shortly before 10:00pm, Gomez somehow lost control of his vehicle on Skokie Highway and struck the median. He then stopped his car and got out to inspect the damage done by his crash, when he was struck by another vehicle driving north on the road.Gomez's intial wreck caused many other cars to crash as they tried to avoid it, and Gomez was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

According to authorities, 15-year-old Summer Ungerank of Pocahontas was killed when the 2008 Chevrolet Aveo she was riding in ran off of Bellview Road at a high speed, struck a tree, and overturned. The accident happened at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Randolph County. Two other teen girls in the vehicle, ages 16 and 14, recieved unknown injuries in the accident. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

An 18-year-old was driving on McIlwain Road near Heath Springs around 11 p.m. Sunday, when he ran off the right side of the road, over corrected, and struck a tree. Early reports indicate the driver was a male, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

A car containing three people was traveling northbound on 3800 East when they came to a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 30. The driver of the car then drove into the intersection, but was directly in the path of a westbound snowplow driven by Rodney Pooler, 58, and the two vehicles collided and slid off the northwestern corner of the intersection.

Sometime before 4:30 a.m. Lindsey Ferguson, 19, of Morning View, drove off the side of the road on Decoursey Pike and Washboard, about 14 miles east of Walton. He struck a drainage culvert and his vehicle then rolled onto its side before landing in the grass on the other side of the road. Ferguson was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

On Christmas Eve morning, William H. “Billy” Siegner of Loves Park was headed north from Freeport with his 15-year-old son in a black Ford Fusion when a red Chevrolet pickup traveling south entered his lane and struck his vehicle Illinois 26 and Winneshiek Road. The 17-year-old pickup driver told investigators he had entered the lane while swerving to avoid hitting another vehicle. All three victims were brought to Freeport Memorial Hospital, and Siegner was then transferred to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Makayla Vandusen, 19, died at the scene following a single-vehicle crash at 10:34 p.m. on Dutchtown Road in Tioga County. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

A 19-year-old male was driving on US 36 when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a wall, and then a tree. He sustained fatal injuries. No one else was involved in the accident.
