Hunter Kolesar, 19, killed and alleged drunk driver Thomas Flynn, 18, injured in car accident on County Route 29 in Canisteo, New York

A Hornell teen was killed Chistmas Eve around 10 p.m. after the vehicle he was a passenger in exited County Route 29 in the Town of Canisteo and smashed into a tree. The driver of the vehicle, Thomas Flynn, 18, Hornell, was charged by New York State Police with driving while intoxicated. Flynn’s passenger, Hunter Kolesar, 19, was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where he died. Flynn was also taken to Packer Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.  

Christopher Weidemann, 45, sustains life-threatening injuries and Christian Eckley, 18, seriously injured after head-on crash on Highway 20 in Anacortes, WA

Just before 10:00pm, a 45-year-old man driving on Highway 20 crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old man head-on. Both drivers sustained multiple fractures in the collision, but the 45-year-old man was knocked unconsious and had injuries that were considered life-threatening, while the 18-year-old man was conscious but still in serious condition. We will update this accident as more information is released.

Roberto Gomez, 17, struck and killed by car as he checked the damage to his vehicle from crashing into the median on Skokie Highway in North Chicago, IL

Shortly before 10:00pm, Gomez somehow lost control of his vehicle on Skokie Highway and struck the median. He then stopped his car and got out to inspect the damage done by his crash, when he was struck by another vehicle driving north on the road.Gomez's intial wreck caused many other cars to crash as they tried to avoid it, and Gomez was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

Summer Ungerank, 15, killed and two other teens injured in high-speed single-vehicle crash on Bellview Road in Randolph County, Arkansas

According to authorities, 15-year-old Summer Ungerank of Pocahontas was killed when the 2008 Chevrolet Aveo she was riding in ran off of Bellview Road at a high speed, struck a tree, and overturned. The accident happened at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Randolph County. Two other teen girls in the vehicle, ages 16 and 14, recieved unknown injuries in the accident. 18-year-old dies in single-car crash on McIlwain Road near Heath Springs in Lancaster County, South Carolina

An 18-year-old was driving on McIlwain Road near Heath Springs around 11 p.m. Sunday, when he ran off the right side of the road, over corrected, and struck a tree. Early reports indicate the driver was a male, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. We'll update this story as more information becomes available. 

Manuel Gomez-Mendez, 28, and a 16-year-old boy killed and Manuel DeMesa, 28, injured after car-snowplow collision at the intersection of 3800 East and U.S. 30 in Hansen, ID

A car containing three people was traveling northbound on 3800 East when they came to a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 30. The driver of the car then drove into the intersection, but was directly in the path of a westbound snowplow driven by Rodney Pooler, 58, and the two vehicles collided and slid off the northwestern corner of the intersection.

Lindsey Ferguson, 19, killed after pickup crashes into drainage culvert in Kenton County, Kentucky

Sometime before 4:30 a.m. Lindsey Ferguson, 19, of Morning View, drove off the side of the road on Decoursey Pike and Washboard, about 14 miles east of Walton. He struck a drainage culvert and his vehicle then rolled onto its side before landing in the grass on the other side of the road. Ferguson was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

William H. "Billy" Siegner, 43, dies head-on crash on Illinois 26 and Winneshiek Road north of Freeport

On Christmas Eve morning, William H. “Billy” Siegner of Loves Park was headed north from Freeport with his 15-year-old son in a black Ford Fusion when a red Chevrolet pickup traveling south entered his lane and struck his vehicle Illinois 26 and Winneshiek Road. The 17-year-old pickup driver told investigators he had entered the lane while swerving to avoid hitting another vehicle. All three victims were brought to Freeport Memorial Hospital, and Siegner was then transferred to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Makayla Vandusen, 19, killed in single-vehicle crash on Dutchtown Road in Owego Township, New York

Makayla Vandusen, 19, died at the scene following a single-vehicle crash at 10:34 p.m. on Dutchtown Road in Tioga County. The cause of the crash is under investigation. 

19-year-old male dies after striking tree off of US 36 near Lyons, Colorado
