Kansas City, MOFive Kansas City people, three under the age of 3, died in a car accident on I-435 Saturday evening. Shante Hopkins, 24, Dominique Johnson, 17, and Hopkins three children 2-year-old Ja Riah, 1-year-old Ja Nijah, and 7-month-old Tay Shawn, died in a car crash when Hopkins' car became disabled on I-435 Saturday. Before they could safely exit the vehicle, a tractor trailer crashed into the car at high speed.

St. Louis, MOA St. Ann man was killed early Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed on the Interstate 170 ramp to westbound Interstate 70. The deceased driver was identified as Paul R. Brown, 48. Brown's 1996 GMC Savana van exited the left side of the road, hit a ditch, and rolled over. Brown, who was ejected from the van, was pronounced deceased at the crash site.

Kansas City, MOAhmed H. Aden, 34, of Kansas City, was charged Friday in Jackson County with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the crash that fatally injured 15-year-old Abdisamad Sheikh-Hussein on Thursday night at Somali Center of Kansas City. Aden was driving the SUV that hit the teen as he got into a car Thursday evening. The teen's legs were nearly severed, and he died in a hospital of his injuries. Prosecutors are requesting a $250,000 bond. Court documents said Aden crashed the SUV and got out of the vehicle with a knife.

Sunday, November 30, 2014The pilot has died and three passengers are injured after a small-plane crash near the Boonville, Missouri, airport. The pilot, Charles Sojka of Salina, Kansas, was killed in the crash that happened around 9 a.m. Sunday. The three passengers were taken to University Hospital in Columbia. Their conditions weren’t known Sunday evening. Sojka was a flight instructor at Sojka Aviation. Check back for more information as it becomes available.

St. Louis, MOWade Mathes, 39, was traveling on Highway 94 near Hinnah Lane when his vehicle left the roadway and overturned at about 1:00 a.m. Mathes was pronounced dead at the scene, and preliminary reports indicate that he was traveling too fast for weather conditions.

Springfield, MOA priest was killed in a traffic accident while vacationing in Branson, Missouri. The Rev. Francis "Frank" Partusch was hit by a vehicle and killed. The accident happened just before 5 p.m. Monday on Missouri Highway 76. The 68-year-old Partusch had been pastor of St. Bridget-St. Rose Parish in Omaha. He'd also served at other Omaha parishes and at St. Michael's in South Sioux City.

St. Louis, MOChristian Dertinger was driving on Ely Lake Drive when he lost control of his vehicle and collided head-on with a car traveling the opposite direction. Dertinger and the driver of the other vehicle, Megan Paul, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and authorities report that one of them was hospitalized. Icy road conditions are to blame for this accident.

Wednesday, November 5, 2014The Butler County crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. on Highway 53 when a car driven by Chelsea M. Hill ran off the road, overcorrected, and then slid into the path of a car driven by Cheryl M. Bader. Hill was ejected from her vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Bader suffered minor injuries and was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Kansas City, MOPassenger killed, both drivers injured in car accident on the Heart of America Bridge in Kansas City, MO when an Impla entered the southbound lanes heading the wrong way and crashed into a Ford killing the Impala’s passenger, who was in the front seat, not wearing a seatbelt. The drivers were transported to the hospital.
