Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLPolice are looking for a hit-and-run driver who killed a woman in Sarasota Friday morning. Joyce Niemeier Sanders, 74, was pronounced deceased at the site of the accident. Sanders and her husband were walking on the sidewalk on Honore Avenue near Palmer Ranch Parkway when sprinklers came on. They moved over to the bicycle lane, and that's when Sanders was struck. Authorities are looking for a brown or gold Ford pickup truck, model year 2010 or later, that will have right front-end damage.

Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLHours after a hit-and-run accident Thursday morning left a 13-year-old bicylist with serious injuries, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper asked the man identified as the driver who left the scene to turn himself in.
Instead, the driver hung up the phone, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The FHP identified that man Monday as Donald Ray Thomas, 20, of Goodrich Avenue in Sarasota. The FHP said it plans to seek an arrest warrant for Thomas for leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury.
