Just before 6:00pm, Parrish was reducing her speed on Vicksboro Road in order to make a turn, but Burgess, who was traveling behind her and had Walker as a passenger, failed to reduce her speed and rear-ended Parrish. That collision pushed Parrish's vehicle into oncoming traffic where it collided with a vehicle driven by Steed. Walker was killed, while Burgess, Parrish, and Steed were all hospitalized with serious injuries as a result of the crash.

A toddler and a teenager are among four people who died in a head-on car accident in Edgecombe County Sunday. The collision occurred shortly before noon near Pinetops when a car crossed the center line of NC 42 and hit another vehicle head-on. The deceased victims as Stephanie Collins, 45, Alan Thompson, 30, Mickeyla Little, 15, and Christian Thompson, 2. The surviving victim, Randy Collins of Elm City, is listed in stable condition at a Greenville hospital. Speed appears to have been a factor. Check back for more information as it becomes available.

A solider from Livingston County was killed in a car accident Sunday at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Spc. Nethaniel H. Wolfson, 22, of Geneseo died Sunday following a one-car accident. Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash. Wolfson served with the 82nd Airborne Division as a signal systems support specialist. He entered active duty service in April of 2013.  Wolfson was the recipient of awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon. The accident took place around 10:15 a.m. at the Wake Technical Community College northern campus in Raleigh, when a 40-foot-high pedestrian bridge being built collapsed while concrete was being poured onto one section of it. One worker died, and all four of the injured were brought to the hospital. Their exact conditions are not yet available.

One person died Sunday after a single vehicle motorcycle wreck near 477 Creech Johnson Rd. in Zebulon. Derek Wiggins, 37, of Middlesex, lost control on a curve and crashed at about 3:45 p.m near his mother's residence.

A 17-year-old died Friday in a single vehicle accident on Johnson Farm Road in Cumberland County. Brian Widhalm was driving on Johnson Farm Road near Eliot Farm Road at 3:20 p.m. Friday when the crash happened. Widhalm swerved off the side of the road, overcorrected, and collided with a tree on the left side on the road.

A teen from Wendell died late Thursday after a single-car accident on N.C. Highway 231 near Applewhite Road. Joseph Warren Early lost control of his vehicle at about 9:40 p.m. near Corinth Holders. The car departed the road, hit a ditch, a power pole, and then a tree. Early was ejected from the car, and died at the crash site.

Two people were killed and three others were injured early Saturday in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of New Bern Avenue and Trawick Road in Raleigh. A 2002-06 Chevrolet Avalanche traveling west on New Bern Avenue struck a vehicle that was trying to turn north onto Trawick Road. Brithany Williams, 24, and Naomi Mercury, 18, died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision. Three other people in the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The Avalanche, which police said is possibly black with a grey front bumper, left the scene.

One person was injured following a three-vehicle collision on N.C. Highway 42 Monday morning, near Fuquay-Varina. The accident occured on October 27, 2014 when a sedan crossed the double yellow lines at Barber Bridge road and collided with the side of a dump truck; the truck was unable to stop after losing its air brakes and crashed into a pickup truck. The driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital to treat non life-threatening injuries.

Tiara Lashay Hinton was riding on Highway 64 in a car with three other teens when they collided with another vehicle. Hinton is confirmed dead, but the conditions of the other people involved are not currently known. The crash is still under investigation and more information will be posted once it is known.
