Misty Lee Wadsworth, 35, a registered nurse at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Wayne County, Illinois, died in a crash with a semi truck on Interstate 24 in Clarksville, Tennessee just after midnight on December 12. Authorities say Wadsworth was driving westbound when she crashed into the back of a semi and died from her injuries.

John Greer of Nashville was hauling wood pallets on I-24 north of Nashville Tuesday when he lost control of his semi-trailer truck, crossed the median, and then hit a FedEx truck driven by Michael Donley of Villa Grove, Illinois. The wood pallets struck the FedEx truck's fuel tanks, causing a blaze that burned for hours on the interstate, and westbound lanes were closed at around 5 a.m. Tuesday, not reopening until about 10 p.m.

A woman who had been missing since Thursday was found deceased Saturday morning in a crashed vehicle. Susan Sandusky Martin, 39, Leoma, Tennessee, was found inside her car Saturday morning in a wooded area about 400 yards off the roadway near Revillo and Pattershack roads, between Leoma and Lawrenceburg. It appeared Martin's car went off Revillo Road near her mother's home. Martin's body and car were found between 9:30-10 a.m. Martin was last seen Thursday when she left her sister's residence on Pattershack Road, near the site of the accident. Martin is the 36th person to die this year in traf

A Good Samaritan who stopped to help at an accident scene on Friday died after stepping over a bridge railing and falling into a river below. Mark A. Ferguson, 27, of Omaha, Nebraska, most likely believed there was solid ground on the other side when he stepped over the railing and fell into the Stones River. Ferguson was able to swim to the bank of the river, but he was pronounced dead after being taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

A sheriff's deputy in Middle Tennessee was killed in a high-speed crash while assisting another officer who was pursuing a fleeing suspect. The accident happened early Tuesday in Spring Hill. Deputy Darrell Perritt, 42, died after he lost control of his vehicle which then struck a tree. The suspect being pursued also crashed and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday in Simpson County, Kentucky at the intersection of KY 103 and KY 1170. The victims killed in the crash have been identified as 22-year-old Samantha Eastgate, of New Kensington, PA, and 13-year-old Jonathan Rimmell IV, from Woodburn, Kentucky. A one-year child was also in the vehicle, but was not hurt.   Eastgate was traveling west on KY 1170 in a 2004 Volkswagon when she drove into the path of a 1976 International, which crashed into the Volkswagon on its passenger side.

Around 1:15 Sunday, four girls were riding in a two-wheeled horse drawn buggy on the shoulder of 68-80 when a semi drove past and spooked the horse near the intersection on Vaughns Grove Fairview Road. The horse ran across the four lane highway into the path of a car, ejecting all four girls. 14-year-old Judith Martin died. The three other girls were life flighted to Vanderbilt Hospital. Two of them are 14 years old, and the other is 13.

Carol Boo was killed when 18-wheeler hauling 40,000 pounds of pumpkins veered across the two-lane roadway near the intersection of McGavock Pike and Kimberly Drive in Donelson, crashing through the wall of her home and into the bedroom she was sleeping in. The accident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. Boo's husband and 35-year-old son were in other areas of the house and were not injured. The truck was being driven by 34-year-old Leonard Wilson.

Family killed in car accident about 30 minutes east of Nashville on I-40 in Wilson County. Michael and Monica Cruce and their two teenage boys, Joshua and Caleb, died in the accident. Two vehicles were stopped in the middle lane, when four other vehicles collided with the stopped cars. Chase Fakes, of Lebanon, was charged with driving under the influence and implied consent.
