Police say one man was killed and another injured after two motorcycles crashed in Springfield Saturday morning at 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Columbia and Murray Roads.  One man died in the collision, while the other sustained injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Arsenal Street and Western Boulevard about 2 p.m. Saturday in Watertown, NY. The names of the those involved in the accident have not been released. The victim was brought to Samaritan Medical Center for treatment.

According to City News Service, the 59-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was one of five hang gliders who disembarked from a peak known as Hang Glider Point in the Kagel Canyon area on Saturday. The man and his gilder were discovered after a search and he was pronounced dead on site.

One person was killed and two others were hospitalized in serious condition after being in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 45 in Dallas late Saturday night. There is no further information at this time.

Three people, including a young boy, were minorly hurt when two boats smashed near Houghton Beach Saturday just after 5:30 p.m.. The accident occurred when a 16-foot boat carrying six people crashed into a 20-foot boat carrying four people, about 200 yards off the beach. Two adults and a 5-year-old boy were treated for minor injuries.

No one was killed in the crashes that happened in Iowa County, about a half-hour west of Iowa City, according to authorities. The crashes started around 3 p.m. when a semi driver from Portland, Oregon started the pileup by rear-ending an SUV driven by a Boone woman near mile marker 214. According to the report, Fedir Maftei, 59, ran into a an SUV driven by Andrea Haglund, 29, causing three additional vehicles to crash. Leroy Stevens, 30, and Keith Dickens, 50, were driving two other cars involved in the crash.

A single-vehicle crash on Highway 13 south of Austin Rd. around 9:00 a.m. injured driver Priscilla Warner, 21, and passenger Brian Jolley, 30. Warner was driving south on the highway when she lost control and caused the vehicle to roll into a ditch. Both Warner and Jolley were hurt in the crash but not believed to be life-threatening injuries.

One person died and 3 were injured in a motorcycle collision on Julius Schepps Freeway at around 11 p.m. Saturday. Selery Moore, 44, was driving a Honda motorcycle with a passenger when he collided with a 20-year-old man driving a Suzuki motorcycle. Then, a 22-year-old man driving a Suzuki motorcycle also crashed. Moore was pronounced deceased at the crash site. His passenger was transported to Baylor Hospital in critical but stable condition.

A 17-year-old girl was killed Saturday when she was hit by a train near Silvana, and one of her companions barely survived. They were walking along the trestle near a swimming hole near the Stillaguamish River. Two other girls were on the trestle when a northbound freight train approached. The girls tried to run off the trestle -- one teen survived, but the 17-year-old was hit. Crews on the train attempted CPR on the girl but were unsuccessful.

A high-speed crash in Covington Saturday morning ended in the death of a 14-year-old Folsom boy. Sloan McDow died after a car being driven by Brandon Bigner, 21, collided with an 18-wheeler on U.S. 190. Troopers pulled the car over for speeding over 100 mph just before the crash. A 14-year-old boy was driving the car at that time. While a trooper was talking to the 14-year-old outside the car, Bigner moved into the driver's seat and fled. About two miles west Bigner crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with an 18-wheeler driven by Walker Hurt, 62.
