A 32-year-old man identified as Steven Richards died in a crash as he tried to avoid a wheelbarrow that fell from a moving vehicle on Route 395 southbound at about 1 p.m. He was ejected from the vehicle, and pronounced deceased at the crash site. Authorities are looking for a red pickup truck with red wooden sides. The wheelbarrow was sitting on top of a pile of mulch in the truck when it fell off. Police also want to speak to a green Ford Explorer driver described as a “thin, black male," who was at the scene just before the collision. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
