Bakersfield, CAAccording to officers, Maureen Deandra was traveling at high speed on Highway 58 when she made an unsafe turning movement in an attempt to overtake a Jeep. She instead collided with the Jeep, both vehicles veered into the center divider wall, and Deandra's vehicle rolled several times. a 7-year-old child was ejected from one of the vehicles during the crash. He died in the crash, and two other people, the 35-year-old driver of the Jeep and a 13-year-old passenger, were hospitalized.

Bakersfield, CAAt about 1:58am, Romero was driving in the center lane of Highway 178 near Haley Street and Bernard Street, when he collided with a car that was in the lane to his left. The collision caused Romero's vehicle to spin and flip over, and he was pronounced dead after being taken to Kern Medical Center. The driver of the other vehicle drove away from the scene. Police are uncertain exactly what caused the accident or if alcohol or high speed were factors.
