The fatal collision occurred just after 5:00 a.m. in the westbound lanes of LBJ freeway in the Lake Highlands area. The driver of an SUV was heading east in the westbound lanes of I-635 and crashed into the the vehicle Crystal Nuncio was driving. She was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The driver of the SUV has been identified as 25-year-old Luis Angel Rodriguez of Grand Prairie. He is charged with one count of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault.
Matthew Tynes, 23, was allegedly driving the wrong way down South Garland Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. when he struck a motorcyclist head-on. The motorcyclist, was taken to Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas where he later died. Tynes was taken into custody and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Charles Cottrill fled from police during a routine traffic stop near Jupiter Road and I-635 for an unknown traffic violation. On his motorcycle, he fled west on LBJ and then traveled south on U.S. Highway 75. Just after exiting Mockingbird Lane, Cottrill crashed the motorcycle not far from the SMU campus. He was taken into custody, and charged with Evading, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
