Authorities have released the name of a bicyclist who was killed in a hit-and-run crash near Windsor. The Colorado State Patrol stated that 46-year-old Ernesto Wiedenburg of Fort Collins was riding his bike north on the Interstate 25 frontage road near Colorado Highway 392 when he was hit at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday. Wiedenburg, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his bicycle and pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Police in Hercules are asking for the public’s help in finding a driver involved in a hit-and-run collision that left an elderly pedestrian with serious injuries. The pedestrian, a 70-year-old man, was walking in a crosswalk in the 1300 block of Willow Avenue when an SUV heading south on Willow Avenue hit and knocked him to the ground, according to a police detective. Witnesses told police that the driver of the SUV got out of the car and approached the victim and when a witness asked the driver if the victim was ok, he said, “He’s breathing,” Van Putten said.

Two Los Angeles police officers are recovering after a suspected drunken driver crashed into them, then sped away from the scene. Investigators say the officers were traveling northbound on Vermont Avenue, just south of 74th Street, when they were rear-ended by a white BMW around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. The officers' vehicle was disabled in the crash, and the suspect's car received front-end damage and a broken rim.

A 13-year-old boy was in the hospital Tuesday after he was injured in a hit-and-run crash. The accident happened Monday night near Pulaski and Congress in Garfield Park. The 13-year old was crossing the street around 7 p.m. when police say the driver hit the boy, then took off down Pulaski heading south. The boy was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, a Chicago Fire Department Media Affairs spokesman said. Area North detectives are investigating.

A woman and two children who were traveling in the second vehicle, an SUV, were transported to area hospital, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening, MetroSafe said. The woman was taken to University Hospital; the two children to Kosair Children's Hospital. The crash occurred on U.S. 42 at Woodstone Way at 3:03 p.m. U.S. was closed in both directions, from Wolf Pen Branch Road to Seminary Drive for more than an hour but has since reopened.

An elderly man struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident in Hillsboro early Monday morning. According to officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ronald Arndt, 80, was hit on northbound Route B near Marshak Way at 6:10 a.m. Arndt was reportedly laying in the road at the time of the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are searching for a suspect who is believed to be driving a maroon late 1990s Ford Ranger pickup truck with lower passenger-side damage.

Two people died in a hit and run accident involving two pickup trucks, police said. Irina Gardinant, 28, of Vancouver, died Monday morning as a result of a hit and run accident that occurred Sunday night in Vancouver. At approximately 8 p.m. Sunday, a pickup truck hit three pedestrians in a crosswalk, as it turned from Northeast 72nd Street onto Northeast Vancouver Mall Drive. Raisa Mosh, 45, of Vancouver, died Sunday. A third pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth pedestrian, a child, was not injured.

Aided by a witness who followed a hit-and-run driver, police arrested a Youngstown woman on a variety of charges early Saturday stemming from an accident on the Robert Moses Parkway. According to reports, the suspect struck a car driven by a Youngstown man around 5:30 a.m., then drove away from the scene. A witness to the accident followed the fleeing driver, and sheriff’s deputies were able to stop her car on Blairville Road a short time later. Carole R. Rossi displayed signs of intoxication and was found to have a blood-alcohol content of 0.16, twice the legal limit, police said.

Tempe police have arrested a woman after she hit a pedestrian and caused a chain of car collisions in a Walmart parking lot. Authorities say the female pedestrian is recovering for serious, non-life-threatening injuries after she was hit by 31-year-old Christy Kupper's vehicle Friday. Police say Kupper collided with a vehicle in the intersection of Rural Road and Southern Avenue at about 6:20 p.m., causing that vehicle to hit another. They say Kupper then sped away from the scene and into the Walmart parking lot.

A Hillsborough county woman is in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle in a hit and run traffic crash at 14603 Sydney Road in Dover Friday morning. 40-year-old Stacey Parkensen was found lying next to the road and transported to a local hospital. The vehicle involved had left the scene of the accident according to Hillsborough County detectives. HCSO located a front grill that is believed to be part of the suspect's vehicle that was knocked off at impact with Parkenson.
