Los Angeles, CAA driver was arrested Thursday night for allegedly slamming into a car, sending it and four passengers plunging into a flood control channel, then driving away from the crash, authorities said.
The hit-and-run collision happened about 7:40 p.m. near Parthenia Street and Noble Avenue in North Hills, according to a watch commander with the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division.

Wednesday, December 25, 2013Fort Lauderdale Police said they are looking for a driver responsible for critically injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run incident early Thursday.
The crash occurred on the 600 block of West Broward Boulevard at about 12:27 a.m. Investigators said Daniel Francis Driscoll, 53, was trying to cross the boulevard, but he was not in a crosswalk at the time, police said.
Driscoll was hit by the driver’s side view mirror and fell to the ground.
Police believe the driver left the scene driving westbound on West Broward Boulevard and was driving a 1996-2000 model four-door green Honda Civic.

New York, NYThe first hit-and-run happened in Queens at around 4:30 a.m. when Enrique Clemente-Ovando, 29, of Elmhurst, was struck and killed about a mile from his home, according to cops. The driver fled the crash in a beige Toyota Camry with Pennsylvania plates, police said. Cops said the car was traveling east on Astoria Blvd. when it struck Clemente-Ovando, who was attempting to cross the road near 31st Ave.

Houston, TXAuthorities are looking for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident early Tuesday morning.
Deputies responded to the 7000 block of FM 1960 around 3:30 a.m. after witnesses reported seeing a woman's body in the middle of the road.
As of Tuesday morning, investigators hadn't released any information regarding the woman's identity, and they said it's still not clear why she was in the middle of the road.
Detectives closed FM 1960 and diverted traffic while they conducted their investigation. All lanes of FM 1960 reopened shortly before 8 a.m.

Monday, December 23, 2013A pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run driver in San Jose early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim, a 48-year-old San Jose man, was walking west across Bascom Avenue south of Scott Street when he was hit by a car traveling north on Bascom, CHP officials said.
The driver fled after the collision, and the CHP was contacted at 12:45 a.m. when a witness spotted the victim lying motionless in the roadway.
He was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he died of his injuries at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews responded to the intersection of Stanton Road and Suitland Parkway around 6 p.m. Police say a car, possibly a gold Nissan, struck a pedestrian then fled from the scene.

Boston, MAPolice in Amherst, N.H., are seeking the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian.
The 71-year-old man was struck about 1 p.m. on Merrimack Road and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police say the driver of the vehicle left the man severely injured in a snowbank and fled before they got to the scene.
Police are asking the public for any information they may have. They believe the vehicle has a damaged headlight on the passenger side.

Chicago, ILThree people were critically hurt by a hit-and-run driver Sunday night in the West Ridge neighborhood on the North Side.
The three were crossing in the 2500 block of West Devon Avenue when a car traveling west hit them about 8:35 p.m., a police News Affairs Officer said. The male driver fled west on Devon before turning south on Maplewood Avenue, where he struck a parked Honda Odyssey, police said.

Houston, TXA man was in custody Sunday night after allegedly crashing his car twice in northwest Harris County -- the second time into a family's home.
According to investigators, a red Toyota sedan was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Veterans Memorial. The driver reportedly fled the scene of the accident and went to a gas station about a mile away on Greenwood Forest at FM 1960 in the Champions Forest area.
For unknown reasons, the suspect then drove across the gas station parking lot and straight into a family's apartment, crashing through their dining room and entering their living room.

Washington, DCA man was killed Sunday evening after a hit-and-run accident in Woodbridge, Prince William County police said.
Police say that about 7 p.m., Pastoo Pereire of Woodbridge was crossing Occoquan Road near the intersection of Vineyard Way when he was struck by a vehicle headed north on Occoquan Road. The vehicle left the scene before police arrived, according to police.
Pereire died at the scene as a “result of injuries sustained during the collision,” police said. Police said they did not know Pereire’s age and they did not have a description of the vehicle involved.
