Seattle-Tacoma, WAA driver went down an embankment onto State Route 509 in Burien, causing a five-vehicle collision, and a husband and wife were critically injured. Five vehicles were involved. The at-fault vehicle came down an embankment on the west side of the road and rolled over when it hit SR 509. Another vehicle hit that vehicle, then was hit by a least three other vehicles. The driver of the vehicle that caused the collision tried to run away on foot, but was arrested by King County sheriff’s deputies.

Trenton-NJPolice are on the hunt for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed an elderly man Monday evening in South Toms River, New Jersey.
William Gaughan, 84, of South Toms River had just purchased lottery tickets shortly before 6 p.m. and was walking home on Dover Road at the intersection of Chamberlain Street. Suddenly, police say, he was struck by a small black or dark-colored vehicle traveling eastbound.
Police say the striking vehicle did not stop at the scene and instead continued east on Dover Road, possibly entering the Garden State Parkway northbound.

Denver, COThornton police are investigating a hit-and-run that sent one man to the hospital on Sunday.
The accident happened at a Home Depot on Grant Street. Police believe a 63-year-old victim was getting inside his Ford Ranger pickup when it happened. Police believe a red Chevrolet Cavalier struck the passenger side of the pickup. The impact was so strong it knocked the victim to the ground, causing a severe head injury.
The victim is listed in critical condition.

Saturday, December 14, 2013The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a bicyclist killed Sunday evening by a hit-and-run driver.
He was identified as Joseph Williams, 27, of Sacramento.
Williams was killed in a crash east of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Saturday, December 14, 2013A driver is behind bars and a pedestrian is in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash in Lauderdale Lakes Sunday morning.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the 28-year-old man was walking in the area of West Oakland Park Boulevard and State Road 7 around 1:30 a.m. when he was struck by a car that fled the scene.
The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family, was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition, the BSO said.

Phoenix, AZA woman in her 20s was killed in a hit-and-run at 19th Avenue and Baseline Road around 8 p.m. on Saturday, according to officials.
The intersection is closed until further notice as Phoenix police investigate the scene, the Phoenix police said.

New York, NYA hit-and-run driver fatally struck a 22-year-old man riding a motorized scooter in Brooklyn early Saturday, police said. The driver was heading south on Highland St. in Cypress Hills when the he slammed into Elvis Batista-Francisco near Fulton St. at about 2:35 a.m., officials said.

Riverside, CAAn Army veteran was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in the community of Canyon Lake Friday.
Police responded to reports of a man down on the 31000 block of Railroad Canyon Road around 2:17 a.m. and located a man deceased in the roadway.
Family members have since identified the man as 32-year-old Scott Bolger.
Bolger's wife says the father of two had stepped out to a local tavern with his brother-in-law Friday night. Investigators say he was walking home, stepped off the sidewalk, and was hit.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

Detroit, MIWestbound I-96 in Detroit has reopened after a hit-and-run crash involving eight vehicles this morning, according to Michigan State Police.
Three people were treated by emergency workers at the scene and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The crash happened about 5:48 a.m. at I-96 and Wyoming Street. A silver Chrysler Sebring with an unknown driver struck a four-door Pontiac sedan, forcing the Pontiac into a Ford Ranger, which overturned, police said. The Ranger was then struck by five other vehicles, including a Mini Cooper and a tractor-trailer.

San Antonio, TXA man is in critical condition at University Hospital after an alleged hit-and-run wreck Monday night on the Northwest Side.
William Collier, 55, was crossing the street before 8:30 p.m. in the 9000 block of Wurzbach Road, outside of a crosswalk, when he was hit by a Kia Sol that fled the scene without helping, according to San Antonio Police Department spokeswoman Romana Lopez.
Collier was hospitalized with a head injury, according to Lopez.
