St. Louis, MOPolice in St. Louis County continue to search for the driver who struck a blind woman and her service dog.
The woman and dog were crossing a street in the St. Ann area Tuesday night when they were hit by a car that left the scene.
The woman suffered bruises but is recovering. The dog was treated at an animal hospital, but will need re-evaluation to determine if it can still provide service to the woman.

St. Louis, MOTwo mine workers are dead in an accident inside a mine in southeast Missouri.
The Ste. Geneveieve County Coroner says the men were in a basket extended from a truck several feet into the air, removing loose rock from either the wall or the ceiling of the mine. Basler says loose rock hit the basket and detached it. The men fell to their death.
The accident happened about 8:30 a.m. Friday inside a lime mine operated by the Mississippi Lime Co. near Ste. Genevieve, about 60 miles south of St. Louis.
Basler said no one else was hurt.

St. Louis, MOWinter storms usually cause a spike in wrecks, but the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Friday raised concerns about the massive number of accidents that occurred over a two-day period this week.
Heavy snow, nearly a foot in some places, as well as sleet blanketed much of the state Tuesday and Wednesday. Streets, roads and highways across Missouri were a mess, and the cold made it harder for crews to clear the pavement.
