According to California Highway Patrol Officer Todd Van Lindt, a car was heading south at around 10 a.m. on Walnut near Marconi when it lost control, veered across all lanes of traffic, and finally struck a tree. Artyom Becher, 29, was killed. The other person in the vehicle, a woman in her 20s, was also killed. Witnesses said the car was traveling at a high rate of speed.
