Hartford & New Haven, CTA 19-year-old man was injured Thursday when he was struck by a car in the parking lot of the Metro Square shopping center, police said.
Cory Beauchamp, of East Hartford, was taken to Hartford Hospital. Police did not comment on the extent of his injuries but said the accident was "serious."
The vehicle that struck him, a 2012 Kia, was driven by 70-year-old Olive Marie Marshall, of Westbrook, police said.
The accident happened about 5:10 p.m., according to police.

Hartford & New Haven, CTA driver unwittingly turned a restaurant into a drive-through Saturday evening when his truck crashed into the building, scattering and knocking down a family of 12 but leaving them with only minor injuries.
The truck slammed into the Galleria Restaurant at 2 Spring St. around 5:30 p.m., breaking the wall and window, and scattering the family that had just ordered dinner for a birthday party, the restaurant owner said in an interview. Some of the people ended up on the ground, he said.
The pickup's nose ended up inside the establishment, the owner said.
