Minneapolis-St. Paul, MNThe Minnesota State Patrol says a 7-year-old girl was killed on Tuesday, July 8 when she was hit by an SUV a short distance from her home. Alyssa Grimm was coming home from fishing with her sister Amanda and another friend around 10:15 when she was hit by a Saturn Outlook driven by Ryan Schipper, 29, of Milaca. She was taken to North Memorial Medical Center where she later died. The accident is still under investigation.

Minneapolis-St. Paul, MNA brother driving himself and three siblings in his Milaca family to school north of the Twin Cities pulled his minivan into the path of a semitrailer truck less than a mile from their destination, leaving his 13-year-old sister dead in a broadside collision, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 7:55 a.m. Tuesday at the T-intersection of Hwy. 23 and 127th Avenue, just west of Milaca, according to the State Patrol.
Killed was Katrina E. Maetzold, 13, the patrol said. No one in the van was wearing seat belts, the patrol added.
