Fargo-Valley City, NDTwo people died after their vehicle was struck by a train in northern Minnesota around 5:33 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 11 in Roseau. A Ford Focus was northbound at a railroad crossing when the driver slowed at a stop sign but didn’t stop the vehicle. The car went across the tracks and was struck on the driver’s side by an eastbound train, which shoved the car into a ditch. Aaron Cook, 35, of Warroad, Minnesota, and Sheryl Reed, 33, of Macon, Georgia, died in the crash.

Fargo-Valley City, NDAt around 5:30pm, a car driven by Cook that Reed was riding in slowed at a stop sign on Highway 11, but still continued onto the railroad tracks despite an approaching train and was struck by it on the driver's side, killing both people in the car. The train engineer was not injured in the crash.
