Three people were killed in a helicopter crash early Thursday morning in Guadalupe County between Santa Rosa and Tucumcari. The helicopter went down in the eastern portion of the county around 2:30 a.m. The crash scene is north of Newkirk, which is east of Santa Rosa. A pilot, paramedic and nurse were on board at the time of the crash. All were based out of Santa Fe. Harvey Frost snapped a photo of wreckage shortly after the crash.

A helicopter belonging to a Louisiana company crash landed on the roof of University of New Mexico Hospital Wednesday evening, injuring the pilot. Authorities said there were three people on board the chopper when it crashed. The extent of the pilot's injuries was not immediately known and the two passengers were not hurt. None of the people on the helicopter was a patient at the hospital, and there were no injuries to UNMH employees. The accident prompted the evacuation of two floors at the hospital, one of which houses the pediatric wing.
