The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a triple fatal crash that occurred on state Route 229 in Delaware County Sunday evening.

Troopers responded to S.R. 229, just east of Horseshoe Road, at about 6:18 p.m. on a report of a crash.

According to OSHP, 33-year-old James Wyatt III, of Marion, was driving a 2004 Chrysler Sebring east on S.R. 229 when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a tree.

Wyatt was killed in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.

James D. Nign, Meghann Nign, Addisyn Benzel, 11, killed, Rachel K. Lindesmith, 9-month old Austin Lindesmith injured, taken to hospital, after two car crash on State Route 518.

Three people were killed in a two-vehicle accident in Wayne Township in Columbiana County Sunday morning. The accident happened at approximately 10:54 a.m. on state Route 518 near mile post 4 in Wayne Township. A police Lt. stated that a Jeep Grand Cherokee went left of center and struck a Chevy Equinox that had nine occupants inside, including the driver. The driver, 39-year-old James D. Nign and his wife, 27-year-old Meghann Nign of East Liverpool, were not wearing safety belts and were both killed.

A Clintonville woman was killed yesterday in a one-vehicle crash just before 11:30 a.m. on Rt. 62 near the Licking County line, the Franklin County sheriff’s office said. Amy Kempton, 29, of Tibet Road in Columbus, was traveling south in a 1999 Toyota Corolla when she lost control of the vehicle just north of Walnut Street in Plain Township. The car went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Emergency personnel pronounced Kempton dead at the scene.

One person is dead and another is seriously injured after their vehicle crashed into a tree early Friday morning.

It happened along East 290th Street in Wickliffe.

According to police, the driver Timothy Roper, age 40, was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.

The passenger Dominick Gromek Jr. 35 was flown to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation, but police said speed was a factor.

Four people were hurt, one critically, in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75. Cincinnati police said Andrea Collett, 48, was driving north in the southbound lanes near Second Street at about 10: 15 p.m. Thursday when her sport utility vehicle hit a southbound car. Collett suffered critical injuries and was taken to UC Medical Center for treatment. Her current condition has not been released. Three people in the other car were injured, one seriously. The crash remains under investigation.

An Avon Lake man has been charged with aggravated vehicular assault after he fled the scene of an accident and seriously injured a woman who was driving to work, police said. Alexander Potoczak, 22, was driving an Audi on Bradley Road in Westlake when he hit another car around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and fled the scene, police said. "He took off, struck another car and caused some serious injury to the other driver," said Capt. Guy Turner, public information officer for the Westlake police department.

Kurt Raschke killed, Ronald P. Hedrick, Wendy Hedrick, injured, taken to hospital, after two car crash on C.R. 33.

One person was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Athens County Thursday morning.

The crash occurred on County Road 33 in Athens County at about 10:21 a.m. Thursday.

According to the Athens Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling eastbound on C.R. 33 while another vehicle was traveling westbound.

Troopers said the first vehicle lost control in a curve and slid off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected, and slid left of center, striking the second vehicle.

Two police officers and one woman civilian injured after head-on crash on 5th Avenue and South Arlington Street in Akron, Ohio

Two Akron police officers were injured in a head-on crash at 5th Avenue and South Arlington Street around 9 p.m. Thursday night. According to police, the officers were southbound on South Arlington Street when a woman driving a Buick turned into their path, and they hit head-on. The two officers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said the woman appeared to be intoxicated and suffered minor injures in the crash. According to police the officers were treated and released from the hospital around 3 a.m.

Kyle Bruggemeyer, 22, killed, Xingyu You, 24, Abhishek Mamgain, 27, injured and taken to hospital after their car collides with semi truck driven by Justin L. Webb, 27.

Troopers from the Marysville post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigation a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. Route 33 in Paris Township Thursday afternoon. Troopers responded to the U.S. 33, near the entrance ramp from U.S. Route 36/state Route 4 south, at about 4:05 p.m. on a report of a crash involving a commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle. According to the report, Xingyu You, 24, of Columbus, was driving a 2008 Honda Accord east on U.S. 33 when You lost control of his vehicle, drove through the grass median, and into the westbound lanes of U.S. 33.
