The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a triple fatal crash that occurred on state Route 229 in Delaware County Sunday evening.
Troopers responded to S.R. 229, just east of Horseshoe Road, at about 6:18 p.m. on a report of a crash.
According to OSHP, 33-year-old James Wyatt III, of Marion, was driving a 2004 Chrysler Sebring east on S.R. 229 when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Wyatt was killed in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.
One person is dead and another is seriously injured after their vehicle crashed into a tree early Friday morning.
It happened along East 290th Street in Wickliffe.
According to police, the driver Timothy Roper, age 40, was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.
The passenger Dominick Gromek Jr. 35 was flown to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident is still under investigation, but police said speed was a factor.
One person was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Athens County Thursday morning.
The crash occurred on County Road 33 in Athens County at about 10:21 a.m. Thursday.
According to the Athens Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling eastbound on C.R. 33 while another vehicle was traveling westbound.
Troopers said the first vehicle lost control in a curve and slid off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected, and slid left of center, striking the second vehicle.
