New York, NYMatthew Branche, 59, of Carmel, New York, lost control of his car when he was driving north on East Hayestown road and wound up 50 feet off shore, sumberged up to his neck in Candlewood Lake in Danbury. Branche was the only person in the vehicle and wasn’t able to get out of the car, but police were able to extract him and bring him to shore.
