Albert Larry Scholting of St. Petersburg, Florida was charged with reckless driving in a 4 a.m. crash on I-95 near exit 145 north of Rocky Mount in Nash County. Scholting was driving south when he drove off the right side of the highway and struck first a guardrail, then a bridge overpass, coming to rest against the bridge abutment, according to troopers. The truck was carrying ramen noodles, and the force of the collision ripped the trailer open, spilling noodles all over the roadway. Southbound lanes of I-95 remained closed until 3:30 p.m.
