Shawn L. Bailey was driving an SUV on Ga. 316 when he swerved to avoid a collision with another vehicle and struck an embankment on the side of the highway. The SUV rolled several times and came to a stop 75 feet away. Two passengers in the vehicle, a 37-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries and were taken along with Bailey to the Gwinnett Medical Center. Bailey died at the hospital of his injuries. Neither excessive speed of alcohol appear to be factors in this accident.

The driver of an SUV died after losing control of his vehicle, rolling it and being ejected while driving at high speed across several lanes of southbound I-75 at University Avenue in Atlanta, Georgia.  Two passengers were critically injured and taken to the hospital.  The investigation is ongoing.

Former Auburn University football star Philip Lutzenkirchen reportedly died in a car accident on Sunday. Georgia State Patrol say that 22-year-old Joseph Ian Davis and 23-year-old Philip Lutzenkirchen were killed in the accident, which occurred at 3 a.m. at the intersection of Upper Springs Road and Lower Springs Road in Troup County in Georgia. State Patrol officers say that the 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe, that Davis was driving, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection.
