Honolulu, HIPolice received report of a head-on collision between a northbound pickup truck, driven by a 39-year-old man, and a southbound Kia vehicle on Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway at about 5:17am. The collision caused the Kia to catch fire, and while one 17-year-old girl managed to escape, the driver and two other passengers in the vehicle died. The 17-year-old girl and the 39-year-old driver of the truck were both taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. We will update this accident as more information becomes available.

Honolulu, HIThe National Weather Service says the bad weather brought down a power line in Kailua.
It happened around 9:30 Sunday morning and a young man was injured.
The 22-year-old saw his van on fire and tried to put the fire out. That's when trouble began.
The quiet of a Sunday morning on Ohana Avenue was shattered when residents heard a loud explosion.
A power line split both ends of the live wire which caused considerable damage.
Fortunately, he was not. The young man was taken to Castle Medical Center in critical condition and was later transferred to Queen's.
