On Highway 75-A at about 4 a.m. north of Beggs, the driver of a pickup truck traveling south was going too fast, lost control on a curve, hit a sign and then a building. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and a medical helicopter transported the passenger to a Tulsa hospital. Two Fort Smith residents died Thursday after their vehicle crashed in Sequoyah County. Quentin Skiver, 32, and Diana Lozano, 28, were in a 1996 Nissan Maxima when it veered off of county road East 1120, just west of Roland, about 3:35 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle was traveling at high speed. Skiver lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway, went airborne, and hit a utility pole. The car broke into three pieces, ejecting Skiver and Lozano. Skiver and Lozano both were pronounced deceased at the crash scene.

Rhonda Schroeder was repotedly driving at a high rate of speed when she lost control of her car and collided head-on with a truck. She was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.
