Phoenix, AZOne man is dead and a 15-year-old driver is in custody after a scooter and motor vehicle collided in Mesa.
The accident at Alma School and University was initially treated as a hit-and-run.
Mesa police say the unidentified teen appears to have only had a learner's permit to drive and could be facing charges for fleeing the scene after the Wednesday afternoon accident.
The name of the victim, who was in his 20s, has not yet been released.

Phoenix, AZThe driver of a scooter was killed in a collision with a car at a busy Paradise Valley intersection as the morning rush hour got underway Monday.
The scooter was northbound on Tatum Boulevard about 7:38 a.m. when it collided with the southbound vehicle that was turning left onto Lincoln Drive, said the Paradise Valley Police Department.
Police said the driver had let several vehicles pass through the intersection and told officers he thought the road was clear when he started to turn.
The scooter's rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The car's driver was not injured.
