According to the authorities, a man in his 50s was killed in DDOT bus accident. The man was getting off the bus on Van Dyke and while removing his bike from the front rack when the bus driver smashed into him. The driver of the DDOT bus did not notice for several feet with 10 other people in the bus at the time of the incident. The driver is now off duty and will be going through drug and alcohol testing.

Winnifred Matthias, 77, of East Flatbush, died in Brooklyn Monday after being hit by a dump truck. The accident occured around 12:25 p.m. when Matthias was walking on the double yellow line on Flatbush Avenue, in the middle of the road, between Atlantic and 4th Avenues. The dump truck driver remained at the scene. Matthias aws taken to Brooklyn Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Cary Neal Rogers, a UPS semi-truck driver, was outside of his truck that was parked on the shoulder of the turnpike when a second semi driven by Scott Randall Sims was driving eastbound on the turnpike when for an unknown reason, it veered off the roadway and rear-ended the UPS semi.  Both Rogers and Sims were pronounced dead at the scene. Sims was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck and was ejected from his vehicle.
