The SUV driver, a 40-year-old Bronx, N.Y. woman, and her 9-year-old daughter were treated at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. The Infinity soon lost control and slammed into a utility pole near Decatur Avenue, according to police. That crash downed the pole and live power lines on top of a Honda Civic, injuring the 70-year-old man driving and his 64-year-old wife. County police officers smelled alcohol on Ciccone’s breath and he appeared to be impaired. "Officers also located suspected marijuana and open bottles of rum and vodka inside his vehicle,” Mullin added.

The St. Augustine Police Department is investigating a early morning crash that left a man dead after police say he was thrown from his scooter after hitting a downed power pole. St. Augustine police said a vehicle was traveling along South Ponce de Leon Boulevard near King Street in St. Augustine and hit a power pole. The power pole was knocked onto the ground across the roadway. Shortly after, a man riding a scooter hit the pole along South Ponce De Leon Boulevard and was thrown from the scooter.

A crash in Hampton caused nearly 400 customers to lose power late Thursday night. Police on the scene of the crash in the area of Shell Road and Tabb Street believe a vehicle forced another vehicle to hit a power pole around 10 p.m. Officers said they believe the incident is a hit-and-run as no one was on scene when they arrived. According to Dominion Virginia Power, the crash ended up breaking power poles and caused the power to go out for 390 customers in the area. Crews had to drop power to another 120 customers in order to make repairs. All power was restored around 6 a.m. Friday.
