Highway 29 was closed in Napa County near Mt. St. Helena Sunday night after a car accident. The accident occurred at around 8:50 PM when a car became entangled in fallen power lines. The accident occurred during rainfall in the area, however it is not known whether weather conditions were a factor in the accident. A second crash in the area occurred afterwords.

42-year-old Camille Jetvig was driving with her husband and their three children plus another passenger when a car hit them. Their van then slammed into a concrete power pole. The Florida Highway Patrol says the road was wet and both vehicles lost control. Charges are pending against the driver who hit their Caravan.

The National Weather Service says the bad weather brought down a power line in Kailua. It happened around 9:30 Sunday morning and a young man was injured. The 22-year-old saw his van on fire and tried to put the fire out. That's when trouble began. The quiet of a Sunday morning on Ohana Avenue was shattered when residents heard a loud explosion. A power line split both ends of the live wire which caused considerable damage. Fortunately, he was not. The young man was taken to Castle Medical Center in critical condition and was later transferred to Queen's.
