Honolulu, HIAt around 8:45 a.m., a car that was traveling in the far right lane of South King Street rear-ended a pickup truck. The car's driver then tried to go around the truck by driving up onto the sidewalk.The car then hit a woman in her 80s who was walking on the sidewalk, critically injuring her. The driver of the car, a man in his 70s, went on to hit three more cars in a private parking lot. He was not injured. Police are still investigating this accident.

New York, NYFairfield police Chief Gary MacNamara was riding in his unmarked police cruiser when he was rear-ended by a woman with a 7-month old child in the backseat. The impact pushed the cruiser into another vehicle in front of him. The woman then drove across the street and struck a brick building, hurting no one but causing some damage. She and her child were uninjured, as well as the driver whose car was struck by the cruiser. MacNamara is hospitalized for his injuries. Police are as of yet uncertain what caused the accident, and the investigation is still underway.

New York, NYA tanker carrying thousands of gallons of fuel overturned and burst into flames on a Long Island highway just before midnight Tuesday, causing two injuries and an inferno that charred several cars, damaged four homes and a Harley-Davidson dealership, Nassau County authorities say.
The tanker was traveling east on Sunrise Highway in Bellmore when it rear-ended another vehicle at a stop light, Nassau County police say. After the collision, the tanker turned on its side and spilled fuel as it skidded down Sunrise Highway before coming to a stop at Brevoort Place.
