Two dead and 10 others injured after losing control of vehicle on Florida Turnpike in Martin County. A family of 12 from Apopka were traveling on the Florida Turnpike when their vehicle sustained a left rear tire tread separation and the driver lost control causing their car to overturn and ejected many of the cars occupants. Uriel Miranda, 38, was pronounced dead on site. Two-year old, Yaretsi Miranda was brought to Tradition Medical Center and then transferred to St. Mary's where she was pronounced dead, according to officials.

Some high school students were walking home on Quail Drive when a car that a witness claims was going at least 60 mph rounded the corner and struck Phalanda Damus, 17, before proceeding to strike four other teenagers. A witness also said that the front two tires of the car were flat. Eventually the speeding vehicle hit a tree and caught fire, and three people got out and ran away. All of the teenagers were taken to the hospital, treated, and released. Despite search efforts, the suspects have not yet been found; check back for updates.

Lorenza Simmons told dispatchers she was trying to avoid hitting the SUV in front of her when she swerved off the road and hit Kevin Johns, who was rushed to Delray Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 1:09 p.m. Johns served the city of Fort Lauderdale for 29 years. Visitation is set for Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the Sanctuary Church in Fort Lauderdale at 1400 North Federal Highway. His funeral will be held at the same location Tuesday at 10 a.m.

The scene of a deadly tanker crash on Interstate 95 just south of 45th Street is now clear following a night of traffic backups on the interstate, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. All lanes were reopened just before 11:00 p.m. Friday night, close to seven hours after the accident occurred. Warner Letterman, 41, of Greenacres died after the front tire of the septic truck he was driving blew out causing him to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a tree, said an FHP spokesperson.
