Nashville, TNCory Stokes, 18, was driving westbound on Cedar Grove Road in a 2001 Honda Accord late Saturday afternoon when his car went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, causing it to go off of left side of the road into a field. Police say the right front tire blew on the car, causing the car to roll over. Stokes was ejected through the sunroof and killed.

Nashville, TNA child has died and his mother was hurt in a hit-and-run collision allegedly caused by a driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the westbound lanes of Interstate 24 in Smyrna on Thursday afternoon.
The crash was reported about 1:30 p.m. at mile marker 66, near Sam Ridley Parkway. The child, his mother and his sister were outside their car changing a flat tire when they were struck.
The suspected driver, identified as 33-year-old Tina L. Wilson, kept driving in a Chevrolet Cavalier after the collision, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
